Malabar STP
Malabar Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) produces about 33,000 tonnes a year of nutrient-rich biosolids, a soil conditioner/fertiliser developed by Sydney Water and used extensively to improve the fertility and structure of farming soils in NSW. The plant operates under an environment protection licence from the NSW Department of Environment, Climate Change and Water (DECCW). Sydney Water monitors the deep ocean outfall discharges and reports regularly to DECCW to ensure minimal environmental impact.
