Workshop overview
Our workshop in Ingleburn (NSW) covers 6500 m2 and carries out the following disciplines:
- Abrasive blasting and painting
- Fireproofing
- Lead Removal
- Polyurea coatings
- Tank Lining
- Internal pipe coatings
- Anti-corrosive tape wrapping
- Industrial Insulation & Metal cladding
Blasting and Painting
The painting facility has two large warehouses, both are approximately 80 metres long by 25 metres wide. Each facility has 2 off 10 tonne overhead cranes. Our materials handling consists of a 14 tonne mobile crane and 3 off 4 Tonne forklifts which allows us to unload and reload various types of steel structures. If the weight of the structure is above our capacity we are able to use sub contract crane hire to satisfy those requirements.
Both factories have their own designated blast rooms. Factory 1 blast room stands 6 m high x 6 m wide x 20 m long with a grated floor. Factory 2 is 7 m high x 7 m wide x 15 m long with a solid steel floor. It can carry up to 100 tonne structures if required.
The blasting and painting processes are driven by two electric compressors that produce 1600 cfm of air which is complimented with an air dryer which provides clean moisture free air.
No matter what size the job a 40 tonne 40 metre RTA girder or a Pools fence that requires an epoxy coating -our facility can cater for everything.
In the past 12 years Giovenco Industries has carried out work for the following clients (extract):
- Caltex Australia
- Shell
- BP
- Bovis Lend Lease
- RTA
- Baulderstone Hornibrook
- Leighton Contractors
- Qantas
- Rio Tinto
- Woodside
Giovenco Industries prides itself on Safety and Quality with a sound family culture. The GioSafe brand brings together our family name into our safety morals.
Our quality system is 3rd party accredited Painting Contractors Certification Program (PCCP) level 1 to 5.
Fireproofing
In more recent times the workshop has undertaken work on the Government BER projects for the Public School System. This entails trowel applying 11 mm of Interchar 212 to square Hollow sections to enable a 2 hour fire rating. Interchar 212 and Chartek 1709 has also been used on several vessel and there skirts for Caltex ,Shell and Woodside. Single pack Intumescent coatings are starting to be used more often in a workshop environment where an Architectural finish is require whilst allowing a coating to stand up to a commercial fire for 60 – 90 minutes.
Lead Removal
The workshop undertook a most recent job removing Lead on a Heritage listed walkway bridge in Como New South Wales. The site contractor unbolted 14 Arches each weighing approximately 3 tonne each and sent them to our workshop.
The lead was totally removed from the arches and a 3 coat epoxy system was applied to ensure the steel work can continue its heritage listing.
Another job undertaken was the Thirlmere Railway Station water storage tank. This also was Heritage listed and had lead removed from the external cast iron shell.
High Pressure Water Washing
A truck mounted Haemmerlin High Pressure Cleaner is available to carry out specific cleaning of steel or various items. 10,000 PSI of pressure is available and as the truck has its own water holding storage tank it can be moved around the workshop or onsite to carry out the cleaning.
Tank Lining
Our workshop carries out many types of Tank Linings depending on what sort of liquid or environment the tank is exposed to. We have carried out specialized coatings for Sewerage Treatment Plants, Epoxy Coatings for air receivers, chemically resistant coatings for refinery tanks and solventless epoxies that cover potable water tanks and also food grade tanks. These are all factory applied coatings which are spark tested after curing to locate any pinholes ensuring that the lining has 100 % coverage.
Polyurea Coatings
Polyurea has been around for several years and can be used in various industrial fields such as potable water and sewerage treatment storage, water recycling, desalination as well as for food grade use. It is also suitable for mining and petro chemical plants.
These coatings are applied through our Graco Extreme Reactor E 30 Heated Plural Pump Ratio 1:1. This is mounted inside our Pantek truck which has a 60 KV A generator and drives a 95 CFM Compressor. This key piece of equipment can moved from site to site or stationed in the work shop for when jobs occur.
Internal Pipe Coatings
Currently the workshop carries two types of Internal Pipe blasting Units, a ConeBlast unit and Rotorblast Internal Pipe Blasting Unit. We are able to blast straight pipes internally that are as small as 200 NB up to 400 NB. We can then apply Epoxy coatings to the internal of the pipes using our ConeSpray Internal Pipe Coating Tool.
Anti Corrosive Tape Wrapping
We carry out the Anti Corrosive Tape wrapping for the protection of ductile iron and cast Iron pipe work and Fittings . We have recently executed major jobs involving this activity with Caltex & Shell refineries in the NSW. All dirt, rust, etc is removed from the bare metal by hand or power tool cleaning (light tightly adherent rust and sound adherent protective coatings may remain). All surfaces to be wrapped are wiped down using a clean dry rag to remove any moisture and remaining dust . The entire Anti Corrosive wrapping work is carried out by competent and trained personnel under strict supervision and quality control.
Industrial Insulation & Metal Cladding
We have a trained and experienced crews are experts in high and low temperature applications and are specially skilled in sheet metal fabrication. We utilize the Ingleburn workshop
