It is the policy of Giovenco to offer maximum protection to the environment and to protect our unique flora and fauna, together with complying with current legislation.
Our commitment to effective environmental protection is considered to be a vital component of our approach to total quality management in all our operations.
To this end, we will;
- Establish environmental protection parameters and designate a senior member of management to be environmental co-ordinator to ensure that we comply with these parameters.
- Engage the services of a qualified environmental protection consultant, should there be specific circumstances that require specialised advice.
- Carry out training in environmental protection for all our staff, with follow up training for specific projects.
- Ensure that the appropriate environmental considerations have been carried out to meet the requirements of current legislation and good practice, before accepting an assignment that may have environmental consequences. Also ensure that our operations fully comply with the accepted recommendations of these considerations.
- Establish waste removal and/or treatment facilities, protect waterways and identify and protect all delicate environmental features, in keeping with the environmental impact statements in the areas of our work.
- Establish guidelines for the setting of environmental targets.
- Always endeavor to maximize waste recycling opportunities.
- Ensure that our activities are consistent with ecologically sustainable development.
